Society of Physician Assistants in Otorhinolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery (SPAO-HNS)
PAs in otorhinolaryngology are playing an everexpanding role in patient care as hospitalists and on-call ear, nose, and throat (ENT)/facial trauma specialists. They also perform outpatient procedures, first assist in surgery, and perform various administrative duties. PAs in ENT also promote their practices by teaching patients about ENT care.
›PAs in ENT are versatile clinicians who can help extend the reach of a practice to those who would otherwise not receive health care.
›A major project for SPAO-HNS is the development of a multimedia training curriculum for PAs. This program will accelerate the education of PAs in ENT.
›SPAO-HNS membership benefits include access to a jobsearch engine on our Web site, www.entpa.org; networking events at AAPA's annual conference and the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery annual meeting; our ENT CME meeting; and a quarterly newsletter, The Vanguard.
›The Allergy/Asthma/ENT Conference, sponsored by SPAOHNS and the American Academy of Physician Assistants in Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, is a chance for PAs in ENT to learn about topics that affect their everyday practice from world-class physician and PA specialists.
